day 35 Boca de Huergano

Go east!

distance: 155km
Elevation: 3100m
Hours in the saddle: 8hrs
Terrain: up up up

It was the day when my brain first switched back to UK side of the road;
It was the day of goats and lizards on the road;
It was the day of dead frogs and mice;
It was the day of cows and their bells;
It was the day of blood, sweat and sweat tears;
It was the day of savouring the wind and the shade;
It was the day of the mantra 'it will end', it always does;
It was the day of the three mountains;
It was the day that I wasn't beaten by those mountains,
That wasn't today;
No, that wasn't today;

(that will probably be in two days time, if my legs still work after today)

Side notes:
- after finishing the 2nd Puerto, I saw a sign for another, and I laughed 'who would do another Puerto after that??!!.........(penny drop) oh wait, I am! Crap.'
- Embalse de Riano is stunning, there really are no words to describe it properly (pic on instagram), I would have appreciated it more without the 8 hours previous so am really glad that I am back here in a few weeks time..in a van.
